This was the first book that I read from
Tom Wolfe, This book has aged into a history book for the underground hippy culture of the 60's. Covering many important scenes that would probably have been forgotten if this book was not written. Covers the
Grateful dead ,
The Merry Pranksters,
Neal Cassidy, and many more, as
LSD ran free through the culture, and how the government made the flower power drug illegal. Tom Wolfe is wonderful at capturing the essence of a time with his books, Since reading
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, I have gone on to read many of his books, and at times when I want to get some reading done, his books are first to be taken off the shelves.
